The Reverend Canon Brian Shenton
Rector and Vicar
Brian came to Reading Minster in 1989, having previously been Vicar of Calcot, Priest in Charge of Cherbury and Sub-Rector of Windsor.
As well as fulfilling his role as Rector and Vicar at the Minster, Brian is also Vicar of St. Laurence, Area Dean of Reading and Assistant Archdeacon of Berkshire and a Canon of Christchurch Cathedral, Oxford.
His varied background has also included working as a chaplain in the Territorial Army and as a Special Constable for Thames Valley Police, as well as teaching and has brought a varied perspective to his parish work.
Brian enjoys reading, playing the piano and organ, gardening, cooking and travelling.

Chris is Vicar of St. Laurence - a church which invests in the young people of Reading.
He was born in Nottingham and lives with his wife, Belinda and their three daughters.
